Arte Latte

There's a very touristy avocado farm near Antigua called Finca Filadelfia.  They offer an Arte Latte class that I've been wanting to take for a while.  A few weekends ago I finally got the chance to go!

The class teaches you how to make a cappuccino- grinding the coffee beans, using the espresso machine, steaming the milk, and making designs in the finished drink.

As much cappuccino as I get here, this class was super interesting.  A little expensive, but basically a private class as it was just me and one friend.  I lost count of how many cups we ended up making!

Our teacher Josue showing Olivia how to make a design with the steamed milk.

How the espresso should look if you've done it right!

Trying to make a design.

Ending up with a glob of white.
I managed to draw a "leaf" as I couldn't figure out how to make the design while pouring the milk.  It's harder than it looks!  I guess I won't ever get hired as a barrista.

"The Power of the Lord"

Back in March our school had our annual Retreat.  This year's theme being "The Power of the Lord".

Chaos at snack time!

Any chance to play soccer!

On the Avocado Farm tour.

Me and my kids.  It's such a nice picture, I wish I didn't have my eyes closed.

Of course there's a view of the volcano.

"Miss Erin, look this!"

I was so excited- we got to try the hanging bridge!

Stefany was so scared at the Avocado Farm because of a drop-off that was yards away.  So scared she was crying.  I was sure she would get halfway across this bridge and be unable to take another step.
But she surprised me and marched across that bridge like nothing!

Is it just me, or does Daniel look a lot like this lion?

This one just makes me laugh!
