Thanksgiving weekend... Part 2

Trip to the Lake.

First city:  Very calm and quiet.
They're having some flooding.

Second city:  Busy and bustling!  The "hippie" town of San Pedro.

A demonstration of a traditional Mayan ballgame.

Third city:

Me and mom in a tuk-tuk

Thanksgiving weekend... Part 1

Thanksgiving came with a 4 day weekend and my mom came to visit me!

I had to have Thanksgiving dinner, even in Guatemala.  We found a restaurant that served a traditional (ish) meal.  Complete with pumpkin pie!  Though of course not as good as my grandma's :)  Also eating with us is my friend Charlotte from school, her son, and a guy from England.

Hiking Pacaya
We hiked up the volcano Pacaya (ironically, not one of the volcanoes you are always seeing in my pictures...)  It was COLD!  and WINDY!  But it was still a fun time!
Not the volcano we were hiking, but it had great views.

I warned you about the wind!

Pretty bracelet filled with lava

This is me trying to warm up by the natural volcano "vents".

This is the volcano we climbed.  Anyone know how to photoshop power lines out of an otherwise awesome photo??
